| Area Critique Groups
Westside Cleveland The Westside
Write-for-Kids group meets on the first Thursday of each month from
7-9 p.m., upstairs at Crocker Park Barnes and Noble (located just off I-90 at
the Detroit/Crocker intersection). Meetings include "shop talk" about the publishing
business and/or resources, and an opportunity for members to break into groups
to discuss writing process in various genre (picture/chapter books, MG/YA novels).
Critique meetings where members read and discuss short selections of their works
in progress are held periodically. Contact Joyce
to verify monthly meetings (occasionally the date is changed to the second Thursday
of the month) or for more information.
Online The
Online PB Critique group is moderated by Susan
Collett. Its members are from all over Ohio. The group is currently at capacity
and unable to accept new members. Queries on starting a second online group are
encouraged and should be addressed to the Regional
Advisor.
West Akron The West
Akron Critique Group is a group of writers and illustrators who are
committed to children's literature and want to share and network with like-minded
people. We welcome people who are interested in any genre, from books and stories
for babies through young adult. Meetings are the last Wednesday of the month at
the Ayres/West branch of the Akron Public Library, from 6:30 until 8:15pm. Please

Columbus The Central
and Southern OH SCBWI Region meets the third Wednesday of each month
at the Upper Arlington Library on Tremont Road from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Meetings
consist of sharing good news, a speaker or discussion on a writing topic and optional
critique of members' work. Guests are welcome but continuing attendance requires
SCBWI membership. For questions or more information contact Jodelle

Cincinnati The
Cinci Area Critique Group meets monthly in
Cincinnati on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held in various locations
and new members are welcome. Please contact Nancy

Dayton
A Dayton Area Critique Group was recently
formed. For information, contact Liz Ball.
Solon The
Northeast Ohio Children's Writers, a group of mixed genre children's
writers and illustrators, meets at the Solon Library the second Wednesday of each
month at 6:30 p.m. Please contact Mary Ryan

Toledo The Toledo
Critique Group meets quarterly, and operates as an online group the
remainder of the year. The group is currently accepting new, Toledo area, members.

Youngstown-Trumbull Group
Therapy, the Youngstown-Trumbull area SCBWI critique group, meets the
third Thursday of each month from 7-9pm at Panera Bread on Mahoning Avenue in
Austintown. Meetings are for encouragement and critique of current projects. Contact
