January January 17 Critique Meet & Membership Directory Update Thanks to everybody who braved the cold to attend. It was a terrific meeting!!! March March 14 Illustrator Event 2009 Illustrator Event Thank you to all who attended and made this day such a success !!!   All of who attended experienced an enjoyable, informative, and creatively challenging morning! April April 18 Critique Meet May May 16 Speaker Event This Speaker Event provided the opportunity to hear and learn from fellow Authors on how to write a "winning cover letter, query, or book proposal".  There were be examples of some "winning" letters that our fellow Authors are graciously sharing with us and some tidbits on landing an agent.

LOCATION/DIRECTIONS: All meetings, with the exception of Annual Conference (September 11-12) and the Publication & Volunteer Appreciation Brunch (November 14), will be held at the Barnes and Noble in Fairlawn, on the North side of Route 18. (4015 Medina Road, Akron, Ohio 44333) All meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. and end around 12:00 p.m. Please come join us on the third Saturday of every month - be inspired, motivated, and perfect your manuscript(s) MAP ** June June 20 Summer Schmooze Discussion of a current writing topic moderated by one of our members, followed by a general discussion of writing and/or illustrating topics, current projects and writing problems and concerns. Come mentor each other! July July 18 Speaker Event - TBA Discussion of a current writing topic moderated by one of our members, followed by a general discussion of writing and/or illustrating topics, current projects and writing problems and concerns. Come mentor each other! August August 15 Critique Meet Bring a page or two of your Work in Progress (manuscript or portfolio) to share for critique. Time will be reserved for 'shop talk' and sharing good news. September September 11-12 NOHSCBWI ANNUAL CONFERENCE Designed by Susan Collet for NOHSCBWI Sheraton Airport Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio Check the website in July for additional details. October October 17 Critique Meet/Submission Party Bring a page or two of your Work in Progress (manuscript or portfolio) to share for critique. Time will be reserved for 'shop talk' and sharing good news.   November November 14 Publication & Volunteer Appreciation Brunch (Location to be announced)       Designed by Deborah L Jackson for NOHSCBWi Free to all NOHSCBWI members! Come celebrate with those members who were published in 2008. Their books/articles will be displayed and books will be available for purchase and autographs. Our 2008 volunteers will also be honored.
